Celebrate 40th Earth Day with 50 green iPhone apps

From USA Today:

Apple's iPhone would have seemed a super-futuristic gadget in 1970, when fiber optics were a new invention and Americans celebrated the first Earth Day.

Four decades later, the world is a different place, and terms like "global warming" are as common in our lexicon as recyling is on our curbside. The problem with living an eco-intelligent lifestyle, however, is there's so much to consider and remember," writes the Coupon Sherpa blog, which offers money-saving consumer tips.

For the 40th anniversary of Earth Day this Thursday, Coupon Sherpa lists 40 deals and programs as well as 50 iPhone applications. Those apps cover shopping, transportation, travel and other areas.

Although Thyme Cafe & Market opened in the fall of last year we have only recently discovered this neighborhood gem!

Thyme Café & Market specializes in seasonal fresh gourmet foods. You can pick up dinner for your family or take a break in our café, and when it comes to meetings and parties, we offer both take-out and full-service catering to make sure your events are delicious.

Thyme Café & Market was found by Maire Byrne, a chef who has worked in exciting kitchens around the country. After 4 years of running a successful catering company, Thyme Catering, Maire found a location in Santa Monica to make her dream of having a café, marketplace, and catering company come together.

She opened Thyme Café & Market in October 2009 and is most often found either at the farmers market selecting the best seasonal ingredients or in the kitchen testing new recipes.
